Sciatica Causing You Grief?

Sciatica is very common these days and can be very debilitating.  There are many causes for Sciatica.  The first and most straightforward is the nerve getting pinched under or inbetween your gluteal muscles.  If you have this type of sciatica you will have sharp pain in one side of your buttocks.  The pain may radiate down your thigh and even along the back of your leg to your foot if it is really bad.  You may also experience numbness and tingling into your leg and foot if it is severe.  If the source of compression or pinching of the nerve is in your back you will also have back pain.  The nerves originally exit out of the lower spine and if compressed can give the feeling of sciatica as well.  It is important that the clinician treating you identifies the source of the pain so they can directly treat the source of the problem and not just the symptoms.  Once the source has been identified then your sciatica can be fixed! If you are experiencing pain in your buttock/s don’t let it cause you any further grief.  Come in & see your local Physical Therapist and I will get you pain free and back to doing the things you love most!
